When we think about preparing for Planet X, or any significant disaster, for that matter, we think about the things we will need to keep the body safe and healthy, but we rarely think about preparing our spirits for the changes that they obviously have to face post-disaster.
Think about it. After Hurricane Katrina in 2005, people basically divided into three camps:
- Those who helped or tried to help.
- Those who made matters worse.
- The vast majority who either evacuated and waited or sat in their homes and waited.
Each person followed guidance from within himself or herself, such as was available in such a short period of time. Only one group can honestly say that it was at least partially prepared spiritually. That was those who helped or tried to help, such as our National Guard, the medical community of the region and those who provided naval and cruise ships as temporary room and board.
Group #2 made matters worse by looting stores and attacking people who were better prepared than themselves.
Group #3, the vast majority, was just too stunned to join either of the other groups. That is because most of them were thinking, “It won’t happen to me.” Others were just too poor to allow in their budgets for such disasters, because daily food, housing, clothing and medicine costs took up all their money and more.
When it comes to worldwide catastrophes, such as world war or the disasters expected to accompany Planet X, people won’t have the luxury of dividing into three groups, because Group #3 will be gone! Wiped out! When you’re too stunned to move, you become an easy target for either the Group #2 types or an asteroid.
This is why we must prepare our spirits to put into action those good qualities we were taught as children. Love others as we love ourselves. Do unto other that which we would have done for us.
