Forty years ago, Civil Rights Activist Martin Luther King shared with a nation in turmoil a dream he had, in which his four children would grow up into a world where they were judged, not by the color of their skin, but by the content of their character.  Last night, Atlanta, Georgia’s Ebenezer Baptist Church rejoiced as the Dream of their former pastor took a giant step toward coming true in the form of the election of President-elect Barack Obama.  Millions of Obama’s fans joined in on the celebration, as obaserved by many CNN reporters.

Obama: ‘This is your victory’

(CNN) — Barack Obama told supporters that “change has come to America” as he claimed victory in a historic presidential election.

“The road ahead will be long. Our climb will be steep. We may not get there in one year or even one term, but America — I have never been more hopeful than I am tonight that we will get there. I promise you — we as a people will get there,” Obama said in Chicago, Illinois, before an estimated crowd of up to 240,000 people.

With Obama’s projected win, he will become the first African-American to win the White House.

Obama had an overwhelming victory over Sen. John McCain, who pledged Tuesday night to help Obama lead.

However, now that the polls have closed and the party-goers are sleeping it off, our President-elect has to face the trials of the coming days while moving his family to the most famous mansion in the world.  As they will be moving, the economy still suffers, and we are still fighting two wars. 

Furthermore, he will have to face leading this country through the coming disasters that are sure to increase as we approach 2012 and beyond.  This is something that no one alive today has the experience to do.  Will he be able to go to his intuition and draw strength and guidance there, or will he fall into old patterns that will prove ineffective to deal with an incoming planet?

Pray for him, send him strength and wisdom; whatever your beliefs may instruct you to do, but support him, for he is the President-elect.
