I gave this article this specific title because not every adversity is a disaster.  You can get laid off or fired from your job.  You can become disabled and unable to work temporarily.  These are examples of adversity, but not of disaster, such a flood or a war.  Yet, one need remains common, whether you are fired or in the midst of a war.  You need food and water to live.

We’ve all seen the news lately, in fact we’re probably sick of hearing about it. The stock market went down another 400 points or the Housing market across the country is hitting historic lows. As a result of the economic failures in the US, the Unemployment rate is skyrocketing.

Recent reports show that unemployment rates have hit a 14 year high and are on the rise. “Employers slashed jobs from one end of the economy to the other in October, pushing the unemployment rate to 6.5%. That’s the highest level in more than 14 years, and makes a deep recession a virtual certainty.”
