So why does this video focus on Hopi prophecy for these times as opposed to other sources, more familiar to many? In a word, experience.

When times are good, prophecy is generally viewed as a puzzle to pass the time. However, when events bring us face-to-face with our own mortality and the fragility of the complex civilization we’ve built, that quickly changes. Arthur C. Clarke, author of 2001: A Space Odyssey observed that “Behind every man now alive stand 30 ghosts, for that is the ratio by which the dead outnumber the living.” Assuming this is true now, what happens in the wake of a global cataclysm, where billions die sudden and violent deaths?
